Signs of the 70th
Although the Disneyland 70th anniversary celebration has been in full swing for a month, I haven't had a chance to visit the parks to see the decor and festivities for myself. That changed last weekend when I finally got to spend an afternoon (and evening) at Disney California Adventure and Disneyland. The theme for this 7-decade event is "Celebrate Happy," and the park decorations reflect the colorful and positive ambiance. Though it's not a style that I prefer personally, the multi-colored bunting, signage, crests, and ornaments really pop nicely, and they're quite photogenic. Much of the theming is customarily focused in Main Street, U.S.A. and Buena Vista Street, though each park's icons--Sleeping Beauty Castle and Carthay Circle Restaurant--have medallions and ribboning to enhance their appearances.
