Torii Gate Rising
San Fransokyo Square's Torii Gate Bridge is a nice example of how a few, relatively minor moves can completely transform the look of an element and a space. This used to be a green truss bridge marking the front entrance into Pacific Wharf. But when Pacific Wharf was reimagined as the Big Hero 6-themed San Fransokyo Square, the bridge was given two towering pylons evoking the famous torii gates of Japanese temple architecture, repainted red, and strung with lights to create a sense of a suspension bridge, ala the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. While the last portion doesn't really stand out during the daytime, the after-dark photos look fantastic and evocative. It's the iconic symbol of Disney California Adventure's newest themed land!
