Fiesta de los Muertos

As it's been a little while since the last time I posted photos of this area, here are some pictures of the Día de los Muertos scene at Zocalo Park.  This charming display celebrating Mexican culture is colorful and vibrant and beautiful.  It's an informative exhibit on a heartfelt practice in Mexican culture.  Though the holiday has become associated with Halloween in America because of both holidays involving ghosts and spirits, Día de los Muertos is more of a remembrance day... a time to appreciate and remember one's departed family members.

These photos were taken with my relatively new Nikkor 85mm f/1.8 lens, which has been fantastic for portrait photography and also captures great details!
