A Contrast in Landscapes

It may seem like the Aulani Resort is a verdant extension of the lush tropical magnificence that Hawaii has to offer, but when you zoom out a bit and realize that the property is located on Oahu's drier west side, you'll see that the property is a bit of a unicorn, playing up the ambiance of paradise when the greater surrounding area is surprisingly a little more arid.  This speaks to the Ko Olina development as a whole, which contains several resort properties, each individually developed.  That means that outside of those properties, the landscape is more of its natural state, which just happens to be a litle more parched than one might normally associate with tropical paradise.  But hey, if you zoom back in and onto the property, then you get the stereotypical Hawaiian beauty once again!
