Gothic Pumpkin Glimpses

Today's post is another in my series of atypical, desaturated, Gothic-esque edits that I've been playing around lately, including most recently in another Haunted Mansion post.  These seem to work best with photos I take during dead hour, which is the time after the sun has set but before blue hour, when the dusk sky is transitioning from a nice dark blue to night.  During this time, the ambient light available is already dreary looking, so muting the colors and emphasizing the contrast and blacks in a photo adds to a grimmer vibe.  And with a subject like the Haunted Mansion available, which already looks somewhat spooky, the edits seem to play more appropriately.

I hope you enjoy this series!
