A Spectrum of Jellies
Three posts in a row from Paradise Pier / Paradise Park? Sure! Today's post is the most colorful part of the area--Jumpin' Jellyfish, a DCA original that provides a kid-sized version of an old-fashioned parachute drop ride. This one doesn't actually produce stomach-churning plunges, though. They're more playful downward hops, mimicking the way jellyfish propel themselves upward in water (only the other way around). This attraction is geared toward children, but it does provide some fun photo ops with the vibrant jellyfish canopies. They remind me of the Chihuly exhibit at the Bellagio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas--glassy, sculptural elements that visually dazzle. Do you agree?
