Inside the Caldera III

Halloween Time has not finished at the Disneyland Resort (somewhat surprisingly after Halloween night, skipping the following Saturday and Sunday and not finishing out the weekend). That means we have exactly two weeks before the Disneyland Resort transforms for the winter holiday season and we switch over to Christmas posts.  In the meantime, that's two weeks of non-holiday posts for now, so lets travel to the incredible Tokyo Disney Sea to check out the magnificent Mysterious Island ambiance?

This themed port of call is set as the water-filled caldera of the volcano Mount Prometheus, and includes two excellent attractions: Journey to the Center of the Earth and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.  Both are hidden within and under the rockwork that encompasses the caldera, leaving the aquatic volcanic crater itself to serve as the main circulation and provide scenic views of this unique area.  There are restaurants and shops set into the rockwork, and walkways that lead down to the water level and beyond.  It's a pretty awe-inspiring locale that demonstrates the majesty of this most beautiful theme park!
