Aulani Over the Umbrellas

A few years ago, when I was at Aulani, I tried to take a photo of the hotel from the beach side, but those pesky palm trees were totally in the way!  How troublesome it was to try to see through the foliage to see the terrific architecture of this tropical paradise of a hotel!  Here I am just trying to get a clear shot, and someone had to plant a whole bunch of palms that got in the way and cluttered up the shot! So rude!

I'm kidding, of course. You can't have a Hawaiian scene without palm trees, and it's the wonderful combination of authentically inspired architecture and verdant landscape that really makes this resort a wonderful example of Disney placemaking.  Here is an overall shot and a panning view of the hotel from the beach!
