The Enchanted Storybook Angle

The Enchanted Storybook Castle from the Fantasyland side.
The Enchanted Storybook Castle is one of those breeds of buildings that has a much different feel in person than in photos.

In photos, the castle seems rather blocky and bulky--a weighty mass with a lot of detailed ornamental features, but which seems to lack the whimsical elegance of Disneyland Paris' castle, or the refined grandeur of Florida's and Tokyo's, or even the cozy classicism of the original Disney castle in Anaheim.  Although the Enchanted Storybook Castle is certainly beautiful, it doesn't have the organic feel of a castle.

In person, though, this changes.  As one walks around the castle and views it from different angles, it begins to gain a complexity that single shots can't quite attain.  I was surprised by how much more I enjoyed the castle when I visited Shanghai Disneyland last year.  Sometimes, [photographic] looks just deceive!
