In the Shadow of the Volcano

Most of the time, when I'm talking about a Disney volcano, I'm referring to Tokyo Disney Sea's Mount Prometheus, the imposing, massive artificial mountain that functions as the park's "weenie," or orienting central icon. In today's case, though, I'm referring to Pu'u Kilo, the in-story volcanic peak that houses the hotel water slides at the Aulani Resort and Spa in Hawaii. This volcano is nowhere near as mammoth, nor does it erupt actual flames, but it's a central part of the resort grounds, offering an elevated view and serving as an orienting landmark of its own for this stunning Disney getaway.  One of these days, maybe I'll even be brave enough to scale it!
