A Sunny Day Over the Briar Patch

Splash Mountain may have evolved into Tiana's Bayou Adventure in the United States, but if Disney fans want to still see this attraction in operation, head onto Tokyo Disneyland, where the iconic log flume attraction lives on in that parks' Critter Country land.  Brer Bear, Brer Fox, and Brer Rabbit continue their adventures and jaunts to the Laughing Place, and the recognizable outline of Chick-A-Pin Hill lives on.  You can get into reasons for why this ride persists in Japan but not America--mainly the difference in the historical and cultural context of The Song of the South in America compared to Japan, where slavery, post slavery, and Civil Rights struggles did not occur--but regardless, Japan is where Splash Mountain lives on.  Here are some photos of the iconic exterior of the ride from my trip a decade ago.
