Looming, Always Looming
"It's behind me, isn't it?"
Well, that's a reality for just about everything in relation to Mount Prometheus at Tokyo Disney Sea. The iconic volcano serves as this park's castle, anchoring sightlines and providing a constant visual cue and orienting device that makes it an ever-present sight throughout the gorgeous park. Sometimes, the contrasts are almost silly--such as this example of the whimsical Mermaid Lagoon up against the towering, ominous-looking mountain. It's a dramatic scene too, thanks to forced perspective, and a fun juxtaposition!
