A Rustic Christmas Past

Here's a photo that can't be taken anymore.  Now that Splash Mountain is currently under construction and being transformed into Tiana's Bayou Adventure, the beloved and sometimes controversial attraction is surrounded by work walls, and the old holiday trimmings of the entrance building will never again be witnessed (unless one goes to Tokyo Disneyland, where Splash Mountain is alive and well).  This is not to say that holiday decorations are gone forever in this part of the park.  In fact, there's a decent chance that Splash Mountain's replacement will be absorbed into an expanded New Orleans Square and be able to take on the Crescent City Christmas scene.  But we'll have to just wait and see if that actually transpires.

In the meantime, here's a look at a yuletide Yesterland.

Near closing time at Splash Mountain last Christmas time.
