A Whale of a Tale

Recently, I took a trip to Disneyland with my wife and met up with one of her friends who has a toddler. So naturally, we spent some time in Fantasyland, which houses most of the rides in the park that are geared toward her demographic.  A favorite is the Storybook Land Canal Boats, which offers a voyage into a wonderful world of miniature models of classic Disney scenes.  But before guests reach this land, they need to brave an encounter with Monstro the whale, from Pinocchio, and be swallowed whole to be blown out his tale into Storybook Land.  It's a whimsical, subtly dark part of a beloved children's ride.  But it did bring back some nice childhood memories of being in awe of this attraction and its escapist appeal!
