Disneyland Forever and Ever

This will be by far the greatest number of photos I've ever placed in a single post.  A week and a half ago, I (once again) shot the Disneyland Forever fireworks show.  This time, I chose the center position, facing the castle directly, standing almost at the very front (where the standing section transitions to the sitting section, i.e. at the north curb of The Hub).  This allowed me to take straight on shots of the show, and I really like how they turned out.  As a result, you're going to get an entire show's worth of photos.  I'll keep the captions to a minimum.  Just enjoy the pyrotechnic eye candy!

One of the coolest parts of the show occurs right at the beginning, when dozens upon dozens of spotlights shine into the sky.

And then more spotlights appear and surround guests, pointing up to the sky. No photo can capture the majesty of this moment.

Walt Disney appears on the projections.
And the first burst is Mickey Mouse!

And now, the pyros start in earnest!
There are 62 more photos after this, so if you're reading this from the main page, be sure to click on the link to see more!

Tinker Bell appears and flies over Sleeping Beauty Castle.

Of course, since I'm shooting longer exposures, she seems like a weaving blur.

Then the fog comes out starts to mess up the photos a bit.

Begin the Tangled segment.

"And at last I see the light..."

I love the Winnie the Pooh segment. Haven't seen that in a Disney show in a while, so its nice Pooh gets some love.

Lots of great fireworks here!

"Nants ingonyama bagithi baba!!"

Yes, The Lion King segment begins with a flourish, much to the delight of guests.

"It's the Circle of Life!!"

The Jungle Book segment follows and gets quite groovy.
It's a lot of fun! And it looks like some of the animations are from Disneyland Paris' Disney Dreams show.

Then we go down to the sea.
Nemo braves the fires of Mount Wannahockaloogie!
It's a lot of silly fun.  From this view, the top of the Matterhorn can be seen. It just doesn't fit in the frame.

Time for Frozen.

They really can't let it go, can they?

But the pyros do get pretty dramatic as the refrains of the smash hit song ring out.

"LET IT GO!!"

"LET IT GO!!"

"The cold never bothered me anyway."

Quick moment to reset...

Now it's time for the home stretch!

From here on out, it's a recap of the show and tribute to Disneyland's 60 years.

And the fireworks come hot and heavy!

Get ready for the finale...

Wait for it...

Wait for it...

Almost there...

And KABOOM!!!  So ends the show, not with a whimper, but with a bang.
I hope you've enjoyed this catalog of photos from the incredible Disneyland Forever fireworks.  I like it more and more each time I watch it, and while I'm still partial to the 50th Anniversary Remember... Dreams Come True show for my all time favorite Disneyland fireworks spectacular, I think this is a pretty good second place.  It's a fantastic show that's been a hit with guests, so go check it out!

  2. Thank you for this, Albert. I don't think we can make it to Anaheim during the 60th anniversary celebration so we'll have to experience it through posts like this. The photos are amazing!
