Tale of the Lion King

Earlier this summer, to help promote the live-action Lion King movie, Disney California Adventure unveiled a live theatrical production of the beloved movie, located in the Palisades Stage in Paradise Park.  It's a fun retelling with some great music and performances and worth checking out during one of its several-times-a-day showings.  Lets take a look at what the Tale of the Lion King offers!

The "Circle of Life" kicks of the show on a high note.

Simba, on the left in orange, encounters Scar, in gray.

Mufasa, in purple, shows Simba his kingdom is all the light touches.

What follows is a nice mash-up of "Just Can't Wait to Be King"...

...and "Be Prepared."

The two provide a nice duet in the song mix.

Scar's plot to remove the holder and heir to the throne comes to life in the wildebeest stampede.

Mufasa jumps in to save his son.

He escapes the stampede and appeals to his brother to help save him, but Scar throws him back into the wildebeest.

Scar then convinces Simba that the whole thing was his fault.

Simba runs off to the jungle, where Timon and Pumba are introduced.

They make a bunch of lion jokes, then encounter Simba.

After hearing Simba's tale of woe, Timon and Pumba introduce the cub to Hakuna Matata.

It means "no worries."

Later, while hunting for food far away from the Pridelands, Nala runs into Simba.

They rekindle their relationship.

"Can You Feel the Love Tonight?"

The spirit of Mufasa reminds Simba of his true identity.

Simba returns to reclaim his throne.

CAT FIGHT!!!

Simba wins and moves to kill Scar, but shows mercy.

Scar tries to take advantage of Simba's mercy but is thrown to the hyenas, where he meets his end.

Simba and Nala are crowned as king and queen.

Hooray! Happy ending!
