The Wildest Isle in the Wilderness

At Disneyland Paris' Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, the tall buttes that echo the hoodoos of Bryce Canyon are not a part of the main section of Frontierland like they are in the other Disney parks.  Instead, Big Thunder Mountain sits in the middle of the Rivers of the Far West, towering directly across from Thunder Mesa, forming an island that is somehow traversed by an underground run of the rip-roarin' mine train roller coaster that then winds and weaves its way through an amazing landscape of sandstone and tunnels and twisted track.  France's Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is popularly regarded as the best iteration, and its unique context and layout are key reasons why.  Plus, it just looks so darn nice against the water!

A side profile of France's wildest ride in the wilderness!
