Architecture in Nature
Though it's all very much manmade, the visual storytelling of the Aulani Resort and Spa follows the natural landscape and history of the Hawaiian Islands. The central Waikolohe Valley, containing the resort's pool areas, water slides, lazy river, and main outdoor promenades, weaves the volcanic landscape and lush greenery together between towering "mountains" of the hotel wings (and the artificial rockwork and volcano). It's evocative of the paradise in which it sits, and it's an ever beautiful and scenic sight!
