Celebrating Disneyland's 70th

Today is Disneyland's official 70th birthday. Exactly seven decades ago, Walt Disney's original Magic Kingdom opened its gates to children and children at heart, inviting guests from all around the country and all over the world to come and experience their heart's desire.  Disneyland was a groundbreaking development in popular culture and recreation when it opened.  Though amusement parks had existed before, none had ever been this cohesive, thematic, and seeking to reinforce storytelling throughout the park.  It's easy to take this for granted now, but once upon a time, there had never been anything as beautiful, emotional, and magnificent as Disneyland.  Now, seventy years later, the park is still goig strong--and still never being complete!
