Bridges and Bridges

One of the many things I love about Tokyo Disney Sea is how it creates areas whose ambiance feel very much like real, lived-in places that could exist as actual city- or townscapes around the world.  Take the view below, which shows the parallel pathways where American Waterfront and Mediterranean Harbor meet each other.  The foreground is the arched bridge of the Disney Sea Electric Railway.  Beyond is the architectural bridge that echos the Ponte Vecchio and other similar covered bridges of Italy.  Together, they look like a manifestation of the passage in time--one historic bridge next to another that accommodates modern transportation.  Out of context, this picture could be some place in Europe--the composition and frame of the picture certainly looks so.  This incredible level of ambiance and beautiful theming is what makes Disney Sea one of the evocative and escapist theme parks in the world--arguably the greatest such park.  Indeed, what a Sea of Dreams!

Dual bridges run across the water at the interface of American Waterfront and Mediterranean Harbor.
