The Verdant Bayou Hill

The makeover of Splash Mountain into Tiana's Bayou Adventure was certainly fraught with controversy between those who favored a move away from association with a Disney movie with a trouble racially problematic history and no current distribution and those who didn't see the ride as being negative or harmful and/or decried cancel culture.  The lopping off of that iconic giant tree trunk at the top of Chick-A-Pin Hill also altered the Disneyland landscape forever.  But one thing that I have to say is am improvement is the nighttime ambiance of the attraction, which has evolved from being a straight illuminated after dark version of what guests see during the daytime into a more sumptuous, verdant, moodily lit mountain that uses that Disney-favored purple and magenda lighting to tap into a more emotional feeling.  Maybe others don't like this, but I've always been a fan of this sort of lighting scheme, and I think it makes for a great photo op!

A bit of a side view of Tiana's Bayou Adventure, featuring both the beginning and the end of the log flume course.
