Pestilence in Phantom Manor

The outside of Phantom Manor is foreboding enough... Dilapidated, ominous, lurking on the hill overlooking Thunder Mesa, the Rivers of the Far West, and Big Thunder Mountain, it's a place that's tied to malevolence.  The dark energy of the Phantom, i.e. Henry Ravenswood, drives the creepy sense of desolation that pervades the attraction. It also makes for some scenes that are even more morbid than what Walt would have preferred, but to me, it makes for the best version of the Haunted Mansion, precisely because it is so dark!
