A Disney Lunar New Year

For the past few years, the Disneyland Resort has presented festivities and special events in honor of the Lunar New Year. This year, the celebrations were centered around the Boardwalk area of Paradise Pier. Lets take a look at some of the things Disney California Adventure has going on.

It seems like the Boardwalk has taken on an EPCOT-like role of showcasing various cultural celebrations.

A display explains how various Asian cultures celebrate the Lunar New Year.

Here, guests can have their new year's wishes written on red tags and displayed on a hanging wall.

There's also a little stand that teaches lantern making.

Mickey and Minnie are dressed in Oriental garb and on hand for a meet-and-greet. Expect long lines here.

A couple of local Asian culture foundations also put on a Lunar New Year show outside the Boardwalk entrance.

These performers do a traditional dance involving dragons.

It's a wonderful event and a nice insight into Asian culture. I definitely enjoy it!
