Holiday Colors in the Sky

I'm sure there's a perfectly concise scientific explanation, but I've noticed that Southern California seems to get spectacular sunsets during the late fall and winter months.  It's not that the sunsets are drab during the rest of the year, but they're "merely" your standard blue sky, cloudless sunsets most of the time.  Without clouds or atmospheric elements, they lack the wild hues that make sunsets compelling.

For that reason, I do get excited when I'm able to capture a more dramatic end of a day, and this scene from Paradise Pier last December certainly qualifies.  The holiday season makes things even more festive, don't you think?

A fabulous winter sunset during the Holidays at the Disneyland Resort.
