The Sleeping Spaceport
On the same night that I encountered moody, mysterious fog pervading Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at the end of the night, I also discovered a pretty empty Batuu in general, which was a stark contrast to the early days of this themed land's opening nearly seven years ago. This allowed me to capture a few empty park scenes without my usual difficulty and luck of having guests or cast members walk into the shot just as I was getting ready to take my long exposures. It felt a little eerie but also very cool to take in this immersive, evocative ambiance all by myself, as though I was a space adventurer discovering such settings for the first time. But that speaks to the thoroughly detailed nature of Galaxy's Edge--one of the few areas of Disneyland Park that I feel does truly rival the hyper-realism and intricacy of Tokyo Disney Sea. Such a fantastic environment for a galaxy far, far away!
